Partner With Us
As a nonprofit organization, we are grateful to the many partners and collaborators who support Project FINE and our work in the community. We host one annual fundraising event, the Taste of International Cuisine, but over the years, we have participated in many different activities to raise funds and promote awareness of diversity in our region.

One Community Many Stories

In August 2013, our Executive Director Fatima Said was honored with a Virginia McKnight Binger Award in Human Service. This award is given annually to Minnesotans who have demonstrated an exceptional personal commitment to helping others in their communities. The award came with a $10,000 prize, which Fatima donated to Project FINE to support the development of a traveling educational exhibit.
The One Community Many Stories exhibit celebrates the stories of refugees and immigrants who have come to call our community home. All of us have a story of coming to the United States, some recent and others passed down for generations. Sharing these stories is one way to build understanding and community. The exhibit includes information on community demographics, including how and why people come to the United States. It also explains the stages of life that newcomers pass through as they adjust to life in a new country; highlights the successes and contributions of refugees and immigrants in our area; and includes tips to help build an inclusive and welcoming community.
The exhibit consists of seven rollup banners, each measuring 33.5” x 78”. The exhibit also includes a video, which can be played on a computer or DVD player. The exhibit is available for display in businesses, organizations, educational institutions and other settings. For more information or to request the exhibit for your location, please contact Fatima Said.

Hearing the Voices of Refugees and Immigrants
Each of us has a history and unique experiences that have shaped our lives. In the Fall of 2014, Project FINE began the Hearing the Voices program to collect stories of refugees and immigrants in our community. The resulting booklet will document the struggles of these newcomers who now call Winona home.
Project FINE is hosting a panel discussion on the Hearing the Voices project on April 23, 2015 at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. The panel will consist of staff, program volunteers and individuals whose stories are included in the booklet.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Project FINE. This project is made possible by the generous support of the Southeastern MN Arts Council and the Winona Fine Arts Commission.

Taste of International Cuisine Cookbook

In 2010, the Project FINE staff, board and friends compiled their recipes into a cookbook. Over the course of six months, we spent time cooking
and sharing our traditional cultural cuisine. The result is a beautiful
full-color cookbook with recipes from around the globe. Copies of the
book are available for purchase by contacting Project FINE or by
clicking the button below.
The recipes are delicious and easy to follow, allowing you to become a Bosnian baker or an Italian chef in the comfort of your own home!
