Newcomers with limited English often need assistance to navigate community systems and access essential services. Project FINE assists the acculturation process by connecting newcomers with helpful resources, helping them complete forms and applications, providing information and referral, and reducing obstacles too accessing services. This is made possible by support from the United Way of the Greater Winona Area and private donations. |

To assist newcomers as they seek to become self-sufficient and contributing members of the community, Project FINE connects families to social and government services and helps them in their interactions with schools, healthcare, law enforcement, housing and food assistance providers. |

| Building Cultural Competency Diversity Training |
| Employers and service providers in the Winona County area are experiencing an increasingly diverse workforce and client base. It is necessary for them to understand newcomers’ customs, beliefs, work ethic, family life, and geopolitical/economic background in order to maintain a balanced work environment. Project FINE offers Diversity Education Training to address topics associated with this increasing diversity and suggest helpful practices. The training sessions are flexible and designed specifically to match the needs of the agency. |
